Christmas 2016: Merrymaking on Level 27 at M Hotel

Though 2016 marks the first time I actually celebrated Christmas, I made no secret about my love for this merrymaking day. Towards the end of the year, the climate cools down and the weather app shows more rainy days than they do sweltering summer heats, of which I take as our version of snow cause life on the equator. Though it packs the same air of festivity as the Lunar New Year, there's something about Christmas that I enjoy so much more. Maybe it's the calm colours that deck the halls or holiday music that gets you in the mood to wear a sweater in your AC room with warm tea, walking down Orchard isn't that daunting anymore with Last Christmas I gave You My Heart playing on speakers every few metres.

After Mun's birthday staycay, we briefly talked about a Christmas edition though I didn't see it coming to fruition at first, but glad that things turned out well anyway. As fun things go, good games, company and music are essentials you need right from the get-go. Hitting the top 40s are go-to starters to get the hyped up, but Christmas only started to feel like it's upon us when Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You came on.

Though there was no mandatory gift-exchange, I know genuine relationships formed far outweight any material gift wrapped in the most thoughtful manilla-toned papers and being able to spend my yuletide with this bunch is a blessing in itself. Bear in mind with a neurotic disposition, I only recall mostly unadulterated moments of great joy.

It may be February already, but I could've sworn it was just yesterday when we were dreading checkout.
