Brunch Somewhere

I read somewhere once that brunch was the most successful scams of all time - chefs would use the leftovers to create the day's menu, throwing in a couple of scrambled eggs to make it look wholesome. Yet charge exorbitant prices for it. This must be the coming of the devil, time to boycott brunches, this is a food conspiracy the government created. AHHHHHHH god save us.
It may be true that brunches were a coy to use up leftovers, embellished with the idea that people who brunch naturally join the upper echelons of society -which if it were true, the marketing guy needs a raise and be respected like Mr Ogilvy himself-, but I choose to overlook that and completely ignore. There's something about brunches, especially on the weekends that pull me in.
This particular weekend, my transition to arvo happened at Selfish Gene Cafe, delighted by the company of some of my closest confidants.

That afternoon, we were ourselves, completely compatible, whichever version updated.
